the genesis, formation and activities of the reconstruction jihad [jihad-e sazandegi] in the imposed war

after the start of the iraqi imposed war against iran, due to the inexperience of the iranian military forces in the field of supporting and engineering, the reconstruction jihad [jihad-e sazandegi]which had been created after the victory of islamic revolution through a decree of imam khomeini to develop the rural areas and eliminate the deprivation therein and also had done some valuable works in this regard, participate actively in the fronts as well.the jihadists were possessed of the sufficient revolutionary motivation and a field experience to do this monumental task. in addition to collecting the public donations, the jihad supporting headquarters were successful to do the engineering activities in the operations as well.like a military organization, the jihad gradually created a clear structure to participate in the fronts.in this article, we have attempted to explain the evolution process and organizational developments of jihad during the iran-iraq war. keywords: collecting the public donations; combat engineering in war, supporting headquarters, organizational developments, jihad engineering support
